Grand Delusions: The Cosmic Career of John De Lorean by Hillel Levin is an ideal book for car lovers. Hillel Levin has researched well and written a good book that throws interesting insights on John De Lorean, the negative and positive sides of his life and him as a person. The author describes De Lorean as a smart and intelligent man. De Lorean, though sharp and intelligent, still took ideas from others and used them as his own. The book also exposes the true image of a person who was entangled in a lot of controversies and the story of the car which finally turned out to be his nightmare. Though the book speaks about the car, it is more about the life of De Lorean, the person.
The book has interviews with people who were associated and connected with De Lorean. They have given valuable insights about the man. Some of the information shared by the writer is so personal that even De Lorean would find it difficult reading. It also exposes the person's ruthless side in his dealings with people. The story is also about greed and the fall of a person from glory and fame.
This is a good read and the author's in-depth research and interviews make it an exciting story. The book, with its descriptions and all the business details of De Lorean's life, will let you into his inner world.
