In God of Summer by Kat Chant, Angus McCraggan, as he is known to us mere humans, meets Erin O’Neill one fateful day at Newgrange. She’s there to confirm a theory she’s had for years since her father died; that there are supernatural forces at work in Ireland. As soon as Erin realizes Angus is a reincarnated god, all the puzzle pieces in her life start falling into place. No sooner can Erin wrap her head around this than the actual banshee that killed her father tries to kill her. Luckily Angus steps in and saves her, but with some unforeseen consequences. No good deed goes unpunished as Erin is thrown into an Ireland full of mythological creatures and is faced with the unfortunate dilemma of either finding a way to save the man she is steadily falling in love with or losing him forever in the quest to bring back his chosen people.
God of Summer by Kat Chant is a romantic tale of none other than Óenghus Óg, the Irish god of youth, love, and summer. I was very intrigued and excited to read the blurb of God of Summer by Kat Chant. I’ve only been to Ireland on holiday before, but the country immediately captured my heart and imagination. The promise of a romantic story set in Ireland with Irish mythology sounded too good to be true, and I can happily say it did not disappoint. Kat has a wonderful way of bringing Irish mythological characters alive and showcasing the beauty and atmosphere Ireland offers. Her fast-paced romance is sure to delight any supernatural romance readers.
