Are you an artist who revels in creating collage images using found objects, including pictures from magazines and greeting cards? Or how about images off the internet? There are plenty of images to browse on the internet, but what images can you safely use without suffering a lawsuit from an angry photographer? You certainly weren’t planning to steal anything; certainly not someone else’s work. Even if you sourced the image, you could still face charges. It makes the simple thought of quickly finding that perfect image something that you want to avoid at all costs. Even if the collage work of art actually glorifies the original image.
Fine art photographer, poet and collage artist Denise Bossarte, has come up with a solution to help all of us in our pursuit of that perfect image. She has produced a number of books that contain only her photographs. And the best part is that these images are available for everyone to use. Glorious Gardens #1: Do Your Art Your Way: Copyright Free Images for Mixed Media and Collage Art is a collection of spectacular art photographs of – you guessed it – beautiful gardens and flowers. Although the book may well be intended to help collage artists find the images they need to create inspiring works of art, the images make it the perfect coffee table picture book with its images that one can admire over and over again. The images are bright, clear, and full of brilliant natural collages of color. It’s a garden lover’s dream to view images such as these. Well presented and a great idea!
