Gilded Moon by A.L. Meinhold is the second book in The Sapphire Star Saga. I read and enjoyed the first book and this one provides more of the same action, adventure, and drama. I strongly advise reading the first book of this epic saga before reading the second just so you are fully grounded in the story and the relationships. There are five women, sisters who are magically connected by being born from five different mothers at the exact same moment under the rare Sapphire Star. They are the “sisters” of a powerful prophecy brought together to save the world in a bloody struggle between two powerful magic brothers. As you can imagine, this is no easy task and the sisters must first learn to really bond and work together as sisters.
The five women of the Sapphire Star sisterhood are not raised together and have very different personalities. Their powers are elemental and fueled partially by emotion. When they are in distress or discord, they become weaker and ineffective. They are also weakened by separation and at the star of Gilded Moon, Ryhan, whose power is fire and who also happens to have a fiery temper, has gone her own way and this causes a huge problem for the sisterhood and their allies. There is plenty of action, drama, and adventure as the sisterhood learns to control their powers and work together to determine who is really a friend and who is the true foe, as they move closer and closer to their confrontation with the evil Axiom. A.L. Meinhold provides a great magical adventure.
