What do a sculptor seeking the solace to craft her next work of art in a haunted house and a stressed-out worker forced to therapy sessions by a sadistic and controlling doctor have in common? They are just some of the stories in Sara Connell's scary anthology titled Ghost House. This collection of logic-defying, terror-filled short stories will have you questioning your very sanity. Be prepared to have your darkest fears reach out to you in ways you are yet to experience. Ghost House beckons; are you prepared?
Ghost House by Sara Connell tests the imagination. These short stories may sound innocent at first but as I read I felt a creepy tingling sensation around me. Cohabiting with an otherworldly being and making it sound as regular as your morning coffee took me completely by surprise but the strangest part of the book is that just when you think you know what's coming next you get hit by another bout of weirdness. The characters are as different as they come and their varied story plots share a similar innocuous tone but, I must warn you, that you will develop a new appreciation for the things that go bump in the dark once you delve into this book. Sara Connell's style of writing makes it obvious she intends to have you peeking around every open door and window and she does it exceedingly well with Ghost House. A thoroughly frightening book that I could not put down till I was done.
