Gentle with Gertie by Will Pollock is a beautiful picture book for young children. Does your child have a special furry friend in their life? If so, they will love this book. A young boy named Ash takes the reader on a journey through the memories he has of his dog Gertie. Ash considers Gertie to be his big sister because she's just as much a part of the family as he is. The two of them had a special bond from the moment Ash was born, and Gertie teaches Ash lots of important life lessons along the way. What cool stuff do you think Ash and Gertie will get up to? Gentle with Gertie brought tears to my eyes. It is a beautifully written story that children are going to love and learn from. From the moment I began reading, I knew it was going to make me emotional. The bond between a dog and its human is so special and will stay with them no matter what happens. Having recently lost my furry friend to old age, this story hit home with how the roles reverse in such a beautiful yet sad way. It's hard to see your best friend age, but you take care of them the way they did for you. The illustrations by the talented Aljon and Nova Inertia are adorable, and the fact that the book is based on a true story made the reading experience that much more meaningful. I recommend Will Pollock's book to every child out there, as they will learn so much from this incredible story. Keep writing, Will, I hope to see more from you soon.
