In Garden Girl: A Cape Breton Mysteries Book 1, Renny deGroot crafts a captivating police procedural set against the stunning backdrop of Cape Breton, Canada. Detective Gordie MacLean, a seasoned investigator battling personal demons and a fraught relationship with his sergeant, is thrust into a chilling case that uncovers a web of secrets buried within the small community. As Gordie delves deeper into the hunt for the killer on the island, the investigation reveals dark truths that put him at increasing risk while he grapples with his own struggles.

Renny deGroot’s Garden Girl stands out for its masterful blend of evocative setting and intricate plotting.
