From sparkling lights and shiny tinsel to a mouth-watering Christmas dinner, caroling, and Santa’s elves. They share their favorite activities to do with their families and will even help your little ones remember Santa’s reindeer! This is the perfect Christmas book to add to your kid's bookshelf.
GabAna Wishes You a Merry Christmas is dedicated to Roz Potgieter’s grandchildren. The message that I love about this book is how it emphasizes the importance of family. A lot can distract you during the Christmas season, especially the shiny new toys that children dream of receiving on Christmas morning. But aside from all the glitz and glam of Christmas, Roz says that cherishing family is what Christmas represents for her. In a way, this book becomes a coming-of-age story regarding its main message, and how children should cherish those close to them and not worry too much about extravagant gifts. She shares that in the book too, and honestly it’s one of my favorite lines! She also made sure to talk about one notable difference with celebrating Christmas in the Southern Hemisphere and that kids should leave Santa an ice-cold ginger beer. That’s because it’s summertime, and they don’t experience a white and snowy Christmas.
