D. Rebbitt is an avid reader who has always enjoyed science fiction from the classics to military science fiction. His military career gives him great insight into the real world of the military from pure boredom to moments of terror. Epic space opera with a military edge best describe the books.
When writing he most enjoys the interaction between characters. Building worlds that are based on real science is an important element in his writing. The books are laced with a gritty realism that puts realistic characters or space marines in interesting situations. Space fleets clash, and characters wrestle with inner demons.

Fulcrum: The Globur Incursion by D. Rebbitt is the story of a man who lived the glory days and now he is ready for retirement; the only trouble is that something or someone is not letting him go. This is the story of Commander John Forest, he is a man of few words, but he is a man after all. He gave his people the 25 best years of his life, to serve them at the fringes of space and against an enemy as strong and vicious as you can imagine. He rose to glory and became a hero when he intervened and helped in chasing a strong enemy away.
Now, 20 years after that incident, John’s life has become much better and more relaxed. He is ready to enjoy his new job back on earth and this time he is not living alone. He has a girlfriend who is a reporter by profession. She is attractive, sharp minded, and John loves her a lot. She believes that John is being watched and he trusts her enough to take her warning to heart. As things become serious in outer space, John has to rethink everything that he is doing… and what he did in the past!
Fulcrum, the title of the novel, may not make sense when you start reading, but as you progress you will come to understand and enjoy the fact that author D. Rebbitt used the word wittily. It is not your usual science fiction style of writing and that is what makes this novel very unique. While most sci-fi novels excel at being vague and ambiguous, Fulcrum brings a lot of drama, action and emotion on a very simple wavelength that speaks to readers. The dialogues revealed a lot about the characters and everything was very well thought out and constructed to perfection.
