Patty Jean Cyrus in her book entitled From Farmer To Fortune Achievements Making It Excellence gives the reader hope and encouragement that any and all can become successful, regardless of their past. Patty shares with the reader how one's past affects them, but that it can't control them unless they allow it to. While she describes her difficult upbringing, she also shares how God strengthened and enabled her to move beyond her past and into an exciting present living experience. She shares scriptures and words of encouragement that will help the reader to not wallow in their own set of difficulties, but rather to look up to God and draw strength from Him just as she did. Many have come from a family that didn't pursue education or better employment, but that didn't hold her back. She allowed the difficulties to become stepping stones so she could look back and see how far she had come.
Author Cyrus does a wonderful job of explaining her challenges as well as allowing the reader to celebrate her victories. This gives the reader hope that whatever they are facing within their life isn't impossible, and if Patty can make it so can we. There are many pictures included which allow the reader to feel a deeper part of the story and family. This story is real and without fluff. One can see what happens when we don't focus on God, and how our lives can turn around when we place our faith in God and trust Him to make the difference.
