Freedom from Failure: A 10-step guide to actionably transform painful setbacks into life-defining triumphs, written by Desmond Devenish, will catapult you into being the person you are destined to become. You will have the tools and the necessary spurt of motivation to become the person you always wanted to be. Devenish describes his journey in Los Angeles to become a filmmaker, and all the setbacks, failures, and waiting he had to go through before getting his script produced. He speaks about his initial ideas of being successful, such as being a homeowner, and how he abandoned those to live his lifelong purpose. Devenish speaks about the internal struggles he had with himself and the journey to becoming the best version of himself.
I found Freedom from Failure by Desmond Devenish to be an excellent rendition of every ambitious individual’s journey to becoming their true self, to live their life’s dream and purpose. The advice that stood out for me was to live your dream and not to let your ambition control you. It’s all about enjoying the journey and not only the destination. Devenish tells his story with raw confidence, including his defeats. He is audacious, making you feel empowered by his words of encouragement. This is a never say die book that will make you believe you can run a marathon tomorrow even if you’ve never run before. It was exactly what I needed. I now feel motivated to get started and to keep going to achieve my purpose.
