Fornicationally Challenged is a work of memoir non-fiction by Judi Lee Goshen. When she discovers her husband of twenty years was a serial adulterer, Judi realizes her twenty-year marriage is over. Now she faces a new chapter in her life as a single woman. As she tries to recover from the heartache and betrayal, Judi believes the safest route for a forty-year-old divorcee is a life of celibacy. But her hormones have other ideas, and she is soon flung into the dating scene, unprepared for what is waiting for her. Follow her hilarious journey through the numerous dating mishaps, miracle bras, the fear of nakedness, and the realization that finding a man is not going to be as straightforward as she imagined. What do men actually want from women? Luckily, Judi’s Jewish mother and dating supremo best friend, Roxy, are always there to offer their advice. As Judi goes from one dating calamity to another, she believes that the perfect man for her does not exist, until a younger man enters her life, and she has to decide if she is sacrificing more of herself than she is willing.
Author Judi Lee Goshen's dating exploits will have you screaming with laughter from the very beginning. There are so many humorous moments throughout; even when Judi discovers the betrayal of adultery, she finds a funny angle on the situation. Her thoughts and actions were hysterical, and I feel any woman who has left a long-term relationship and embarked on the dating scene, especially after many years, will resonate. Her best friend Roxy was amazing, and always gave Judi the confidence to step out of her fear zone and try new experiences. Judi found herself in the most embarrassing and realistic dating situations that were so relatable. The entire book is extremely well-written and flows effortlessly, just like two girls sharing their embarrassing stories over lunch. Fornicationally Challenged is definitely the ultimate divorced woman's handbook, which uncovers the reality of the dating world that is not covered in any romance novel.
