If you enjoyed reading Love You Forever by Robert Munsch, you will love this new children’s book, For Infinity and Beyond. Author Terri Peel Bechtold uses a repetitive—and building—sentence throughout the book. Each time the sentence appears it gets a little longer and longer. The mother and her two daughters say the repetitive phrase together often, which helps to build a bond of understanding between the females. Later, the daughters teach the phrase to their children and say it with their grandmother, thus passing on the tradition of being grateful for time spent together. Libraries, schools, and homes will want this book, which is bound to be a classic, well-loved story to be shared for decades.
The underlying theme in For Infinity and Beyond is one of understanding and love among the family members. As they play together, bike together, visit the beach together, or bake together, a mother and her daughters express their love with a specific phrase, which they eventually pass on to their children. Author Terri Peel Bechtold has created a warm, caring, and expressive story that will encourage other families to adopt a similar tradition. The full-color illustrations are very well done. The drawings of people are realistic and expressive, which will help draw readers into the story. Children and parents will love this story of appreciation for the wonderful day, adventure, or time spent together. At the end, they recite the phrase together and promise to always remember and never forget … For Infinity and Beyond.
