#FOCUS: Heaven's In Your View by L. David Harris is a well-written, creative book in which the author utilizes the bait within all social media posts - the hashtag. He goes on to list the top ten hashtags of activism movements which have affected society the most. This allows the author to introduce the proposal of a new hashtag movement: #FOCUS (Faith-Overcoming-Consistency-Uprightness-Surrender). From there the author carefully introduce each letter as a topic, backed up with scriptures and words of knowledge. The author becomes a dual asset in his delivery and teachings as he drives home his proposed idea.
I found this to be an inspirational read. From the way it was written, you could tell the author has studied the topic extensively. Not only did he supply an abundance of scriptures, but he also inserted key points to help pull out the wisdom of each scripture. Even though this is a short book, the knowledge therein more than compensates for its size. The teachings and declarations by the author made it easy to follow in agreement. The author's excitement could be felt through the creative way he illustrated key points to go along with scriptures. There are moments where he asks the reader a question, as if sitting across from someone. I found this method to be a very interactive style which allows a break in the dialogue. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves inspirational writings, but more importantly to all who love to be elevated from faith to faith.
