Fling With The Flying Doctor by Kathleen Ryder is a contemporary romance novel set in the laid-back town of Alice Springs. Meghan and Jurgen met by chance at the scene of an accident. They later discovered that she was a pediatric nurse, and he was a surgeon working at the same hospital. Their attraction to each other grew, but they had a truckload of emotional baggage. Meghan and Jurgen had been hurt by their pasts and they swore off relationships. Their lives were all about their jobs and family. However, when they could hold back no longer, they agreed on a sexual relationship with no strings attached. Will they be able to keep to the rules of engagement? Who will be the first to break and want more from the relationship?
Fling With The Flying Doctor by Kathleen Ryder was a fun, educative, and enjoyable read. I loved the plot, which wasn’t a clichéd romance. It had depth and was flavored with relatable scenes. I loved the concept of building the story around family and friends, as this made the storyline more realistic. Kathleen did such an outstanding job with character development that I felt their pain, especially Meghan’s. She had been through so much, and I see her as a formidable woman for her ability to rise above her circumstances. Jurgen’s family was such a big one. They were simply the best; same as his friends. I loved the simple and engaging writing style, locking me in from start to finish. Kathleen did an awesome job, and I’d love to read more from her.
