Flight Risk - Assignment: Romance Book 4 by Barbara Valentin is the story of a woman who is scared of heights, then an assignment makes her question her fears and she has no idea that she will find the love of her life. Aubrey Thomas is a travel writer, she is an independent woman and she can do whatever she sets her mind to. However, there is only one thing that holds her back: her fear of heights. She is sent spiraling when she finds out her next assignment needs her to go skydiving and this is the last thing that she wants to do.
Now she is looking for anyone who will help her get over her fear and get the assignment done, or else she will lose her job. Her savior comes in the form of a window washer named John Trelawney, a man who finds nothing wrong with dangling in mid air to wash windows. But there is one thing: he is too handsome and too charming for his own good and for Aubrey’s heart. He makes her heart flutter and there is nothing she can do to stop these reactions. But he is very important for the future of her job! What will she do now? Will she take the risk or will she just lose her job.
I don’t think Flight Risk could have been any sweeter without being cheesy. Barbara Valentin did a wonderful job at creating these two characters and the chemistry between them. The story was laced with humor and some pretty witty dialogues, and I just loved Aubrey. She was as tough as nails, but she was such a girl sometimes. She was endearing and John was the perfect match for her. Together they make a pretty awesome couple and their love story made me go “Aww” out loud at least twice.
