La Flore police woman Tara Tanner feels that there is a serial killer loose in the town she serves. The body of a woman, Terri Gibson, initially reported missing by her longtime friend Sophia, is found with the head brutally mashed. Overweight Cassandra is found with her body sliced open brutally and Jacob Nelson's decapitated body is discovered. A local homeless man is picked up by the police but he only grabbed a victim's underpants and masturbated on her dead body. Tara, product of a dysfunctional home where her father drank himself senseless while her mother conducted endless affairs, has made a good life with former policeman Dale and their daughters, Megan and Sara, and she knows that she must be careful in following a killer for she doesn't want her family hurt in any way. She suspects one of the many personal trainers in La Flore, a handsome, well-toned man named Daniel S. Wade, who was washed out of the Navy Seal program just days before his graduation. There is something about Daniel that just gives Tara a cold feeling. But is he the killer?
"Fit to Kill" is a riveting story of a police woman chasing a really scary killer who does not come across as psychotic on the surface. Good characters, good plot and good writing makes "Fit to Kill" a to-die-for read for thriller fans.
