Sam Wolfe had loved Megan Carmichael for years. He'd done so quietly and from afar until one fateful night when a school friend had accidentally bumped into Sam as he'd pushed past. Megan would never forget how her world suddenly changed after Sam's teeth had grazed her, transforming Megan into an angry, scared, clumsy, and very awkward werewolf. She would need to learn to behave as a wolf without giving in to the lustful feelings and temptation she felt for Sam. Megan has trouble enough just trying to shift into her wolf on command, as well as learning to walk and run. But little does she know that a deadly threat lingers very close to home, destroying her hope for any future. Two attempts had been made on her life since the change. Nobody knows who wants her dead, but Megan knows full well that the next attempt on her life may cost her the lives of all she holds dear. Find out more in First Shift by AJ Skelly.
As the first book in The Wolves of Rock Fall series, AJ Skelly's brilliantly written love story gives one heck of an entrance. First Shift has a youthful feel, and I was entranced right from the first page. I loved how remorseful Sam's werewolf was, even though Megan had been out of his reach for so very long until he'd accidentally bitten her. So many genres are touched upon, with action, suspense, mystery, comedy, and a romance of a lifetime. Several choices need to be made to survive the month leading up to the next full moon, and if any two people can do it, it's Megan and Sam. Readers aged 12 and over will delight in this paranormal teenage tale and the heroes introduced into their literary world. I cannot wait for book two to arrive!
