Who said history is a boring subject? Join Danny and Kenna and discover with them who Harriet Tubman was. Also known as General Tubman, Harriet was the famous runaway slave who became the first woman to lead a military assault during the Civil War. In Jeffrey Bensam's carefully researched and entertaining book, Finish the Story! Harriet Tubman's Secret Raid, young readers will be able to join Danny, Kenna, and Harriet herself and help them carry out a secret mission. They will have to answer questions and find their way out of mazes, and they will also have to manage the budget. Thanks to this story, readers will develop their skills and understand the importance of making essential decisions.
Finish the Story! is not just a book that reveals to young readers facts about Harriet Tubman that they do not usually read in school texts. There is much more to consider when recommending this book to your children or students. Through the story of Harriet Tubman, Jeffrey Bensam makes it possible for our young readers to improve their maths skills, enables them to make their own decisions, and makes them responsible for what happens in the story (the choice between the three endings proves this). This is very important to me because many adults have never been taught to be accountable. Teaching children that responsibility is not a burden will make them better people tomorrow. These are the main reasons I loved Finish the Story! and recommend it to anyone who wants to help children learn many valuable things.
