Finding the Strength by Stacy Eaton is a short story of courage and the revival of self-confidence. Tayla Adams is a strong woman, but she isn’t really aware of how strong she is. One night, she becomes a victim of a brutal mugging and is saved by Cam Giles, a third-degree black belt in martial arts. As a result, she decides to take up self-defence classes, not realising she will come face to face with Cam. The meeting leads to her taking up a martial art in a bid to learn how to defend herself and build up her self-confidence. But can Tayla build up the confidence she will need to protect both herself and Cam when she is suddenly betrayed?
Finding the Strength by Stacy Eaton is a great short novel, an amazing story of strength and courage. The plot is something that we must all take notice of because attacks happen all too often these days, often in broad daylight. Stacy has written two very strong, very dominant characters here and both are extremely well developed and very likeable. Although this is a fictional tale, there is a very strong message wound through it, a message that tells us we shouldn’t give up when we are faced with a tough situation. The story line ran a natural path. I didn’t feel as though I was being rushed through anything and, although it wasn’t a long story, there was plenty of depth to it. This is an inspiring story, one that I would recommend anyone read; in particular, women who don’t think they have the courage or strength to face up to adversity or difficult challenges.
