A deadly virus has brought the world to a standstill, but a now-defunct FBI agent is still on the hunt for a serial killer in the thrilling post-apocalyptic, science fiction suspense novel, Finding AJ (Apocalypse Journeys Book 2) by Russ Melrose. Before the viral infection had turned most of the population into the walking dead, the FBI was hunting for the serial killer called The Calligrapher. The psychopath would carve the letters AJ written in ancient calligraphy into each of his victims. Even though the government no longer functioned the way it once had, Jules Vandevelde will not give up her search for the man who had violated those young women. Traveling across the desert to the town of Gideon, where the last clues to the killer's identity lay, Jules follows his trail. Gideon has eliminated all of the infected from its town, including the suspect. With nowhere else to go, Jules joins the remnants of the community in their camp. Still not convinced the man who died is the culprit and concerned the killer is living among them, Jules continues her investigation into the citizens of Gideon. If she is correct, can Jules capture The Calligrapher before someone else falls prey to his wicked pastime?
A woman's hunt for retribution taking place in a world inhabited by zombie-like creatures is the exciting plot in the spine-chilling Finding AJ (Apocalypse Journeys Book 2) by Russ Melrose. It is an enthralling story with strong characters and a sound plot, all of which creates an outstanding novel. In a story filled with action and sprinkled with blood and guts, the reader is taken on a journey through a world similar to that of the television series, The Walking Dead. I found the book to be captivating and well written. Even though I had not read the first novel, I had no problem keeping up with the plot, but I feel reading the rest of the series would make the story even more intense. I recommend this book to those who enjoy stories with a suspenseful plot and contain characters who must survive the plight of an infected world. This is a fantastic beginning for an electrifying science fiction series and I look forward to reading more.
