Ferret by C.C. Wyatt is Volume 1 of The Ferret Books. Four years ago, Pia lost 16 hours of her life when she disappeared and then reappeared, not knowing where she had been although she knew that she had been kidnapped. Now, Pia is going back to where it all happened, but she is not looking forward to it and her misgivings seem to be right. Things are about to get more crazy than Pia ever imagined as she sets out on a mission to explore a world that only she lives in. Then Cameron Jacks comes into her life and everything changes in an instant. Can Pia find out what happened to her all those years ago? And just who is Cameron Jacks? The clock is ticking; time is running out.
Ferret (The Ferret Books Volume 1) by C.C. Wyatt was an intriguing read, packed full of mystery and suspense. The plot is interesting, somewhat unique and unpredictable, which I like in a book. It shows incredible imagination and creativity on the part of Ms. Wyatt. She writes the characters very well, giving plenty of detail to allow readers to get to know them over the course of the story and, I suspect, setting the scene very well for Volume 2. This is one of those books that got me from page one but then slowed down a little before picking up the pace and running hard with it, keeping me on the edge of my seat. It’s a page turner and one that will enthrall any teenager or adult alike, especially those who like thrilling endings that leave you hanging, waiting for Volume 2. Great debut novel, I'm looking forward to the next installment.
