Due to their likable personas, it is very easy to root for Rowan, Murphy, and the James brothers. Both the two main romantic relationships feel genuine, and every scene between the lovers is a joy to read. Overall, a great novel for readers who love romantic thrillers.

In Fate: Karma and Fate Duet Book 2 by T. Kennington and C. Roth, Michael Infante, Rowan’s brother, appeared in the club during Laini’s memorial party. He evades her but Rowan relays to Micah that he had been there. DeClan tries to get Micah to tell him what happened in Chicago after Lincoln had to tell the police some of their history. Rowan and Caden announce they are going to leave for a romantic vacation. Micah has a nightmare about JC while she was asleep with DeClan. Detective Kashansky speaks to Micah at the club, confirming JC and Javiar are in Los Angeles. When DeClan and Micah leave the club, JC and Javiar are pointing guns at them. Meanwhile, Rowan and Caden professed they were in love with each other. On their way home, Michael runs them off the road. The car flips and Rowan’s seat belt breaks. Caden couldn’t find her pulse. Then his world goes black.

Kennington and Roth exceeded my expectations in this sequel. Just when I thought the threat from JC and Michael was imminent, the presence of Detective Kashansky increased tension. Micah’s emotional overload makes her lash out at DeClan. He has the patience of a saint to put up with her. I felt Rowan had managed life a lot better than Micah because she sought therapy. Micah bottled everything up and was quick to negatively judge people. The truth about JC’s obsession with tracking her down was enlightening, and I felt sorry for him. Despite being a gang leader, he had a heart. He had several opportunities to kill her and Rowan. Michael is the epitome of human scum. The transitioning perspectives were clear and it is easy to connect with every person. The end of the story was written well, leaving no questions in my mind. It even went beyond what I could imagine. Fate: Karma and Fate Duet Book 2 will appeal to anyone who enjoys stories where the lines of justice are blurred and they have read the first book.
