Falling for Lemon Snowballs (Christmas Cookies) is a holiday romance by Erica Mae. Annie Baker dreams of opening her own bakery. Winning the Old Town Christmas Festival’s Cookie Contest would help achieve her goal. After getting caught stealing lemons from her handsome, aloof neighbor, Kade, she bakes Lemon Snowballs and other delightful treats. Disaster strikes when Kade’s dog invades her home, eating or destroying most of the cookies. Annie becomes distraught as there isn’t enough time to replace the large quantity she had before. A remorseful Kade offers his help in the kitchen. Annie begins to see a nicer side of him but knows he’s hiding something. How can he not be excited about Christmas?
Annie Baker has a passion for baking. Reading about the cookies she baked left me yearning to try her signature cookie, Lemon Snowballs. The recipe is also included in this delightful light romance by Erica Mae. Annie is clever, spunky, loving, and sentimental. Despite putting on a brave face, she’s had her share of disappointments and sadness. I like Jo’s fun personality, as well as Annie’s family. A warm, relaxed feeling emanates from the story as you read. Annie’s fondness for the Christmas season will put you in a festive mood. There are also introductions to other interesting books at the back of the novel. Falling for Lemon Snowballs by Erica Mae is a cozy little romance that will have you thinking of freshly baked cookies and romance.
