Immunologist Dr. Kayara “Kay” Ingham has had a vision of her husband’s death, caused by two individuals who invaded their home. To prevent this grim future, a mysterious Osiris Corporation man, Mr. Tuccius, offers her a lucrative job that will suit her skills more as a brilliant immunologist. Kay declines the offer and thought that would be the end of it. Yet, Tuccius keeps pursuing her with the offer and shocks her with an impossible ultimatum that threatens the people she cares about.
Eyes of Osiris: A Kayara Ingham Novel (Architects of Lore Series, Book 1) by Anita C. Young is a paranormal novel with a dash of sci-fi and romance. It is clearly sharp and well-written from the beginning. There’s plenty of mystery and conspiracy for readers to devour. When Kay is forced to choose, she learns that the Osiris Corporation is more than it seems to be. The company is made up of people who call themselves the Architects of Lore, and they are relentless in achieving what they want. Kay’s world is thrown into chaos as she tries to keep her husband, Nick, safe.
Young delivers a unique story with characters that have substantial depth. I’ve read a number of ‘origin’ stories, yet Young definitely succeeds in creating a premise that is unique on its own. With its unpredictable plot, there is much to enjoy in Eyes of Osiris. It’s a solid novel and a worthwhile read – definitely a series that readers would enjoy.
