Evil Rises: Superstars Trilogy (Volume 1) by Errol Barr takes you to the year 400 AD and introduces you to King Tiridates of Armenia and his seven sons. This is in a time when men were empowered by God and turned back Satan from his evil work. Moving forward in time to a more modern day, Satan has had time to plan his revenge and he has planned it well, having seven children of his own who grow up into geniuses in the music industry. Finally they come together and create a single rock band that sets out to take over the world, but Satan is not going to find an easy path - faith and humanity can bring God storming in.
The fight between good and evil, Heaven and Hell, is a story that is as old as time, but within the pages of this book you find a fresh take on it and an intense story to be told. Errol Barr has done a fantastic job of bringing a new cast of characters in to do battle; it may be an old battle but it is being told in a brand new and impressive way. From the first page until the last I was enthralled; some characters you just hate but you are supposed to, while others warm your heart. I truly enjoyed the strength shown by Katherine. The horror she lived through and yet she found a way to make life amazing again, and it doesn't hurt to have a daughter such as Chloe! If you want a truly inspiring and interesting book to blaze through, this will be your read. I can hardly wait for the second one in the series.
