Everybody Poops! by Justine Avery and Olga Zhuravlova is a delightfully charming book about a topic no one seems to want to discuss even though everybody (yes, everybody) poops. If you were wondering who poops or have someone in your life that wants to know, then this is definitely the book for you. Each colorfully illustrated page breaks things down to the simplest of terms by detailing every single living thing that poops - people, animals, insects, birds, and pretty much everything on the entire planet. Before you close the last page, there will be no question in your mind as to who poops and who doesn’t. And having cool, imaginative visuals to smile at while learning makes it that much cuter.

Everybody Poops! by Justine Avery and Olga Zhuravlova will make you want to read it over and over again. I also think adults will find it just as entertaining as children and wish I had had this book when my (now-grown) son was little. Even though there are other books out there on this particular subject, without a doubt this is the best one I’ve read yet. It’s amusing and colorful, imaginative and funny; most of all, it’s informative. Any child reading this will ‘get it’ and feel more comfortable with his/her own body mechanics, as well as be able to view the topic from a whole other perspective - as an adventure. Silly and fun, united as one. We all poop! I give it five well-deserved stars. Loved it!

Everybody Poops! by Justine Avery is a children’s picture book about the out-goings of all the creatures that poop. The story is told in a silly rhyme scheme way with different sized fonts at times to keep it lively. The illustrations, created by Olga Zhuravlova, are of a comical nature at times, and display an array of all different types of poopers, from people to creatures of the land and of the sea as well. Nobody is left out of the natural process that ensues after one has finished eating. The colors and images are vibrant throughout and connect well with the style of the font and rhyme.

Justine Avery’s Everybody Poops! made me reminisce about a book that I had as a child. I think that as we get older, those of us who are without children can find the subject to be a bit anxiety worthy. It may remind you of the time that you were stuck in traffic and barely made it to the house. Justine Avery swept those anxieties away and created a jaunty page-turner that children and adults as well would benefit from. Books like this would easily find the perfect home in pre-schools and possibly early elementary classes. I would dare say it might even be a healthy, helpful reminder to have on hand in nursing homes. Sometimes we take unexpected moments too seriously and they can damage us, but if we try to find the laughter somewhere in it all, it makes us lighter people (pun intended).
