I enjoyed reading Errant Gods because it is a fresh perspective on Norse mythology. This book won’t read like an extension of Marvel’s Thor. It is something totally different, but no less entertaining. It is difficult to classify this book because it has a blending of various genres. Fans of horror, crime and fantasy will enjoy this read. Erik Henry Vick is a great storyteller who blended modern culture with mythology in a dramatic way that made the story unpredictable. Even horror veterans will not be able to predict how this story unfolds. I liked the author's way of showing how an average man can overcome insurmountable odds and emerge the victor. It was a pleasure reading this book.

When Hank finally succeeds in nailing them, something extraordinary happens. These butchers prove that they are not human, leaving Hank badly hurt and broken. What makes things worse is that they promise to hurt the one thing that Hank values most. So when they return years later to fulfill this promise, will he still have enough fight left in him? Will the cripple be able to protect his own family from a seemingly invincible and ruthless enemy?

Did you ever care about a character so much that you feel their pain, sweat for them as you read, feel the stinging tears in your eyes, or does your heart palpitate as you fear for what might happen to them? Erik Henry Vick makes you experience this and more and there is no way you can stop feeling for the protagonist, a three-dimensional character who is genuinely flawed and whose humanity reflects a lot of what most readers know. The plot is cunningly done and the pacing is fast. Errant Gods features a gritty investigation, a powerful setting, a tale of horror with a very unpredictable and satisfying ending. You won’t put it down.
