Emotional Recovery from Workplace Mobbing: A Guide for Targets and Their Supports by Richard Schwindt is a psychological, educational, and motivational book that guides readers through what is workplace mobbing, how to deal with it, and how to recover from it. Workplace mobbing is more common than we think and it affects a large spectrum of organizations and professions, including the ones that we least expect such as teaching or social working. Removing yourself from such toxic environments, seeking professional help and involving your family in the healing process are just a few solutions to this problem. If people don't address this issue, the consequences could be devastating: addiction, divorce, stress-related diseases, and even death.
The book Emotional Recovery from Workplace Mobbing: A Guide for Targets and Their Supports by Richard Schwindt is a valuable source of information, not just for people finding themselves targets of workplace mobbing, but for their families and friends, too. It is well organised in chapters around one main issue like grieving, healing, available therapies, medication, to name just a few. Although the book is eloquently written, the language is easy to understand. The book closes with a list of further reading, which is a welcome bonus for those who want to study this issue in more depth. I particularly liked the case study of Jennifer as it presents a step-by-step guide from becoming a target to her recovery, which is a great addition to the book. There is life after work and we all should establish our priorities (family, health) before it is too late.
