It is written by Faith McCune, based on her true story about a precious furry member of her family. The story is also told from Faith's point of view. Her wish to have a pet dog leads her to an unsuccessful puppy search at the pet stores, until she finds an ad about a family with Australian Shepherd puppies to be adopted.

We share Duffy’s experience of this world from the very moment he was born. It was poignantly beautiful and, if I may say, educational. Faith and her husband Bernard embark on a colorful journey with Duffy through all life's ups and downs – and what a journey it was. There is a somewhat grim moment for me during Duffy adoption’s process. While the ‘humans’ are happy, Duffy on the other hand is miserable as he is taken from his similarly distressed mother. Fortunately, he learns to love his new home and his ‘Mama and Daddy.’ Throughout the book, there are helpful tips included regarding each event in the story such as the correct way to do the puppy adoption process, the right timing to adopt, preparation that one should do before bringing a pet home and much more.

Overall, it is a beautiful story about a dog, his family, and his outlook on the world. It is a unique kind of guide book for us, as we learn important lessons through Duffy’s World about our canine companions. Undeniably, Faith McCune has come up with a great concept for a book in the animal genre.
