Does Love Always Win? is a young adult LGBTQ romance by Diane Billas. After breaking up with her boyfriend, Bryan, high school senior Sam Daniels (Shorty) begins a new relationship with her longtime crush, Zack. However, try as she might, Shorty just doesn't feel as attracted to Zack as she thought she would be. Meanwhile, Kristy Davis is the new girl in town, and after Mrs. Jacobs tasks Shorty with showing Kristy around Dale High, Shorty and Kristy develop a burgeoning friendship and bond over their shared interests. Kristy reveals to Shorty that she is pansexual, and the two feel a mutual attraction that neither can deny. While Shorty and Kristy admit their feelings to each other, Shorty's ex-boyfriend Bryan threatens to out her in front of everyone. Will Shorty give in to blackmail or choose Kristy?
