Do Not Worry, Do Not Be Anxious, Do Not Be Afraid: Self Help Manual for People Who Worry a Lot and Suffer Anxiety and Fear is written by Thomas Lamb. If you haven't convinced yourself to stop worrying yet, then this book gives you plenty of reminders straight from God's word. This book is a great reminder of a common theme in the Bible, "Don’t be anxious." This world is temporary and so are the food, clothing, and shelter associated with it. Jesus said previously, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21) Focusing on earthly items promotes earthly affections. It draws us away from worshiping God.
Reading, praying and meditating on one entry a day helps remind me to trust in God. Using scripture to apply to daily life can be life changing. I've worried about first impressions, politics, correctness, identity theft and health. Over the span of my lifetime, I have spent more time worrying than I have doing anything else. I'll never get back this wasted time and worrying does absolutely nothing to improve any situation. So, I have decided that worrying does not help anything. I always have been someone who needs proof of something in order to believe it 100%.
We are supposed to focus on going to heaven, fulfilling God’s purposes, and worshiping one true God. Money seems to be the biggest and most common focus and worry for the majority of the human race. We must not let ourselves become preoccupied with the unimportant things of this world. We should stay focused on our ultimate goal of being with God. This book was a great reminder for me to focus less on the unimportant things and more on the big picture.
