Dizchord: Atlanta's Guardian Angel of Music by C. S. Johnson is a superhero, action-adventure comic book similar to the popular titles sold today. Yes, our masked hero can swing a fighting stick, but he also can get inside the bad guy’s mind and amplify the music and madness inside their souls. I enjoy reading new graphic comics, and this one did not disappoint. The artwork, story, and characters remind me of the popular and widely sold comic stories that hit the markets daily. Here we have Stephen, who went through tragedies but was able to combat them and work to persevere despite them. His loss steers him into the direction his superhero side takes and guides his decisions in saving lives.
The story takes a supernatural twist when Stephen uses his abilities to reach out to his departed father. The advice he hears and accepts underscores the likeability of the hero, and I found myself rooting for him all the way. I found the artwork to be first-rate, able to measure itself easily with today’s bestselling titles. The main character is likable, with a good moral base and common sense. Despite some violence, it is downplayed and not exaggerated into gore. This edition is the first in a series of adventures to come. I am wondering what will come next. Dizchord: Atlanta's Guardian Angel of Music., by C. S. Johnson, is a highly recommended read for comic lovers of all ages.
