Officer Riley Harper with the Phoenix Police Department testified against her partner by force at the cost of her job. Her partner killed an unarmed suspect who had his hands up. Friends, colleagues, and acquaintances named her a disloyal snitch. Everyone abandoned Riley, and no one hired her until one fateful day. Riley got a call from Sandpiper Bay, an island off the coast of Maine, to join its police department. This place, although remote, was next to paradise. She expected a laid-back work season for one year. However, Riley was in for a rude shock when an unbelievable case landed on her desk. Perhaps the welcoming people of Sandpiper Bay were not so friendly after all. Enjoy Death in Sandpiper Bay by Tracy Hall and Patrice Wilton.
For a small and touristy town, there was a lot of action. The gossip would last forever! Death in Sandpiper Bay was a fantastic page-turner that I couldn’t put down. This Riley Harper mystery novel contained a lot of suspense, action, danger, and humor. I loved everything about the book as it was carefully curated and consistent. The plot and story development were excellent. All the characters grew on me, and I fell in love with many of them. Hall and Wilton are fantastic storytellers that captivated me and held my attention throughout the novel. They were so descriptive that I saw myself in the investigation with Riley. I also loved the simple, easy-to-grasp writing style and flawless editing. What does the future hold for Riley on the island? I can’t wait to enjoy the series.
