Death By Shock is a work of fiction in the mystery, murder, and suspense sub-genres, and was penned by author Abigail Keam. The work is intended for the general reading audience and forms part of the Josiah Reynolds collection of mystery novels. We rejoin central protagonist Josiah after many adventures, and this time Shaneika and her cousin Heather are along for the ride. But when Heather discovers a dangerous secret and goes to Josiah for help, a shocking turn of events rollercoasters them all into enigma and peril. What results is a highly engrossing and unique mystery tale that is sure to keep readers turning the pages from cover to cover.
Author Abigail Keam has crafted a skillfully penned and very exciting work of fiction with plenty of twists, turns, and clever plotting to offer readers. There’s never a dull moment in any chapter of this work, as different layers of intrigue and sudden plot shifts take us in new directions, each more dangerous than the last. But Keam keeps a firm hold on the plot in order to reach a satisfying conclusion and ensures that the character work is realistically grounded to make us care deeply for those involved. The dialogue was also most effective, serving to display the unique traits of the characters and the Kentucky feel of the novel, whilst also moving the plot and exposition of clues forward in a natural way. Overall, I would highly recommend Death By Shock to fans of the series, quirky mysteries, well-penned suspense, and for fans of Southern characters and atmosphere everywhere.
