Aled Jones is Professor of Sustainability and Director of the Global Sustainability Institute at Anglia Ruskin University. He is a father to two sons. Prof Jones is an External Panel member of the HRH Prince of Wales Accounting for Sustainability (A4S) group and sits on the Scientific Advisory Group for the Global Food Security initiative which feeds into the UK research councils and across government. He is an author on the 3rd Climate Change Risk Assessment for the UK Government. He was a member of the UK-US Taskforce on the Impact of Extreme Weather on US/UK Food Security and a President Bill Clinton Distinguished Lecturer. He chaired a working group on climate finance within the Capital Markets Climate Initiative (CMCI) on behalf of Greg Barker, the Minister for Climate Change in the UK Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC).

Dear World Leaders: A Response to Children’s Letters about Climate Change is an illustrated children's book that explains climate change with its causes, effects, and solutions. In 2020, children from all over the planet wrote letters to world leaders about this situation. Aled Jones includes extracts from the letters, along with explanations on the subject, to create awareness among our children. It includes a list of activities that have been undertaken and goals for the coming years. The book talks about solutions such as renewable energy, the food industry, and recycling, among other things. The reader will discover unity among communities around the world and that it does not matter where we live. If the Earth suffers, so do we.
Climate change is a direct threat to children’s potential to survive, grow, and thrive. We must not just talk; we must examine the facts and use the information to create action. Dear World Leaders explains what measures have been taken and provides suggestions to children. I liked the content as the author's words are not limited to definitions, but seek to help and motivate people to make a change. The book reminds us that adults have a lot to learn from children because the comments made in their letters show both concern and a genuine interest in helping the common good. Aled Jones advocates that the highest priority be given to childhood awareness and coping strategies because future generations are the ones who will live according to the actions we take now.
