Deadly Wipeout by Beth Prentice is a fun amateur sleuth murder mystery. Samantha gets fired from her job in Australia and decides to reunite with her mother and brother. They are living in the resort town of Aloha Lagoon in Hawaii. Samantha finds one job available that she thinks she is capable of doing. It is a surf instructor and her job would be teaching kids from the resort to surf. It has been a couple of years since she last surfed, but it's just like riding a bicycle, right? With a tug of misgiving and a touch of nausea, Sam takes the job. When giving her first lesson in the water, Sam is mowed down by a dead man's body coming in on a wave. The dead man is one of her mother's patients and her mother is now the prime suspect. Not believing that the detective in charge has her mother's best interests at heart, Sam starts looking into the murder herself. Before she can gather any reasonable clues, there is another murder and now Sam's brother is implicated as well. How many murderers can one resort town hold? Is her family being framed?
In the cozy mystery Deadly Wipeout by Beth Prentice, it is Samantha Reynolds versus the police detective. She has nothing concrete to prove her family's innocence and the detective has nothing but proof of their guilt. This a good book to read when it is too hot to go outside. Grab a lemonade and sit under the fan and join Sam in Hawaii as she investigates the local resort town of Aloha Lagoon, searching for the real murderer. I really enjoyed this book; it was fun to read! If you love a good cozy mystery and you love the surf, then you will love this book!
