Dawn of Eve is a psychological/supernatural thriller written by MJ Howson. Dawn Easton is a forty-year-old woman who is the sole heir to a fashion empire. In a committed relationship with a younger man named Jacob Jilani, all Dawn wants is to be a mother. But after suffering her fifth miscarriage, she starts displaying symptoms of postpartum depression that force Jacob to convince her to seek therapy. Feeling unfulfilled by her therapy, Dawn starts finding solace by sharing her innermost secrets with a porcelain doll named Eve, with whom she strikes up an instant bond. However, her obsession with Eve soon drives a wedge between Dawn and Jacob, leaving her even more isolated. As she gets closer to unveiling Eve's past, Dawn's life spirals out of control before her eyes.
Filled with suspense, mystery, and intrigue, Dawn of Eve is an absorbing page-turner from start to finish. If you enjoyed movies like Child's Play or Orphan, you're going to love Dawn of Eve. Author MJ Howson brilliantly captures Dawn's descent into madness and keeps you guessing about the mystery behind Eve's past until the very end. The climax is unsettling and unpredictable yet thoroughly entertaining. I found the characters multi-layered and three-dimensional, which made them compelling to read. The plot moves quickly, and the twists keep your eyes glued to the pages. The narrative is filled to the brim with tension and intrigue that make it an immersive experience. Dawn of Eve is a tale of revenge and horror that I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a well-crafted thriller.
