After facing a traumatic assault and a considerably favorable court case, Lori finds herself briefly free from Kelvon, her chaotic ex-husband. However, this is not to last. Desi, her lovely daughter, finds the arrival of a new child and younger sibling upsetting. Remembering the wonderful times she had with her biological father, Kelvon, she longs to be close to him once again. Lori is initially hesitant to let this happen because of Kelvon's history of abuse, but she eventually caves in to maintain a good relationship with her daughter. However, Kelvon will prove why he's a nuisance once again, despite the love he receives as a celebrated music artist. Elaine Wigfall's Davenport-Silas, Not Trevalon weaves a nuanced, dramatic tale about a family's struggles to thrive while facing stormy, chaotic situations from different sides.
I could almost physically feel the tension in Davenport-Silas, Not Trevalon as the scenes are seriously provocative and gripping. Elaine Wigfall expertly brings various characters with complex personalities together to create an addictive tale. Kelvon is an infuriating character with a predator's mindset and a strong resolve to get what he wants. He appeared so real that, at one point, I wished I could tell him to back off in person. The story moves at a captivatingly fast pace, following the family's transition through different stages—such as childbirth, experiencing sex for the first time, parenting rebellious teenagers, and grandparenting. Consequently, mature readers from different age groups will find it quite relatable. You should read Davenport-Silas, Not Trevalon if you love books about intriguing family drama and the appealing themes of love and hatred. It's fun, suspenseful, and filled with just the right amount of disorder.
