Tynan MacGillavry is a shapeshifter, a vampire who has searched for centuries for a Seer, a human with supernatural powers. He finds Lily Quinn, a New England college professor whose idea of a wild time is to stay up late eating popcorn and watching television. Lily doesn't regard herself as having supernatural gifts, but she suffers from devastating nightmares and has a green pentagram on her neck that glows and burns. Ty and Lily are attracted to each other and go off to Chicago, where they enter a vampire's nightclub and meet Ty's brother, Jaden, fellow vampire Damien, and the powerful Anura, Vlad Dracul, and Queen Arsinoe, who may or may not be a friend. Lily finds that she has exceptional powers, for she is the child of Queen Lilith and a human. She uses that power at book's end to save a vampire dynasty, nearly ending her own life. Will Ty save Lily and make her his own by sinking his teeth into her neck? What would you do if you were a vampire and the love of your life lay in a coma?
