Crisis In the West: The Attempt to Destroy Christian Civilization is a work of non-fiction focused on history and religion. It is suitable for the general adult reading audience and was penned by author Gerald Rahelich. In this epic tome that does exactly what it promises in its title, the author takes an expansive look at the history of Christian civilization from as far back as Greek and biblical ancient history in order to survey the exploits of Christianity and western culture. From this, he goes on to explore the proposed threats to western and Christian ideology that come from other cultures, but also from those who have grown up in western culture but formed alternative social, cultural, and moral values. What results is a treatise that focuses on the success that a core belief in the values of God can have on society and work towards improving it for Christian people.
Author Gerald Rahelich is a dedicated writer with a clear cause, and whether you agree with his ideas or not, the work that he puts forward in this epic read is fully evidenced, detailed in its history and argument, and well-penned with a compelling and passionate narrative quality. From a Christian reader’s perspective, the work gives its target audience a lot of hope and strength which they can draw from the successes of the past and take forward into the future. Rahelich’s interpretation of western preeminence by the word of God is founded on a wealth of biblical and historical quotations, interpretations, and facts, and I found the section covering challenges from radical movements around the world to be particularly interesting. Overall, Crisis In the West is a work that will fulfill the needs of its target audience and bring devout Christian readers a great deal of solace and solidarity in these challenging times.
