Criminal Patterns: The Chronicles of Detective Tina Patterson by Gary Polisano is the story of three friends who went to high school together and later turn to a life of crime. They start off with robbing stores before moving onto something more nefarious - human trafficking. They are investigated by Detective Tina Patterson, an overworked cop who really doesn't need more cases, but this one could be big. Readers get a look at the guys working together on a robbery at the start of the book. They are typical losers, but together they are dangerous and looking for ways to make money.
Gary Polisano has written an interesting book in Criminal Patterns: The Chronicles of Detective Tina Patterson. The characters are well developed and Tina seems like a good cop. She puts the pieces together and works to figure out who is behind the crimes. Jumping from robbery to human trafficking seems like a huge leap, but I think that their greed leads them and they have no issues with people getting hurt if it gets them what they want. The story moved at a decent pace and it kept me reading. I think it helped the story to have them start with the crime. I enjoyed this book although there are a lot of similar books on the market. I think it was interesting having both sides of the situation - the cop and the criminals - and seeing how they both do their jobs. I would recommend it to thriller and crime fans.
