Cookies Full of love by Brock Schreiber is a wondrously imaginative children's story that begins with a hand written note from a daughter to her mother, hoping that she enjoys the cookies that were made especially for her. She starts her labor of love by waking up early while the stars are still decorating the morning sky. She begins gathering all of the marvelous ingredients she needs for a batch of cookies that are like no other. Ingredients that are gathered with the help of Mother Nature from all of the natural wonders of the universe. All in all, it takes most of the day for her to complete the batch of cookies for her mother. A fluffy, moist, and sparkly sweet treat.

Mr. Schreiber does a beautiful job of creating a masterfully well put-together story, one that I feel will be a classic for many years to come. I can see it being read as a cuddling moment at bedtime, as well as an inspirational show and tell type event at story time in both classrooms and libraries. Accompanying Brock Schreiber's story are the illustrations by Kimberly VanDenBerg which capture the spirit of the story as well as the essence of a child's gift of love to her mother. As the saying goes, "A picture is worth a thousand words," and this is very true in this case. Cookies Full of Love succeeds on every level for me. I sincerely hope to see many more works from this collaboration of a talented team. Outstanding!

Cookies Full of Love by Brock Schreiber is a heartwarming children's book about a young girl who wants to make cookies for her mom. The girl wakes up extra early in the morning so that she can collect all the ingredients she needs, because, you see, she's not making just any cookies, she's making cookies full of love. First she needs to collect the brightest stars she can find. Then she needs fluffy clouds. Following that, she needs rainwater. Finally, she stirs the ingredients together, and lays them out on a tray. She then asks the sun if it could bake her cookies. Will her mother like the cookies the girl made?

I really enjoyed reading Cookies Full of Love by Brock Schreiber. I liked that the story was short, but sweet, just like cookies. The book is very heartwarming, because the girl goes to all that effort to make the cookies. The book is very well written and the writing is very profound, especially on the last page. The writing is also very descriptive. The characters are all very likeable, and many people will find that they are able to relate to the young girl. The pictures by Kimberly VanDenBerg are very well drawn, and clearly depict each scene. The style of the pictures is adorable and seems to match the theme of the story. The book is well thought out and well developed. I would definitely recommend this to all young readers.

Cookies Full of Love contains a recipe of all natural ingredients with a large dose of imagination and then sprinkled with love. Author Brock Schreiber has written a wonderful, imaginative story demonstrating a child’s love for their mom. But, it’s no ordinary batch of cookies. A child bakes a batch of cookies made from love. She carefully mixes the finest ingredients: the fluffiest clouds that look like marshmallows, shimmering stars, and soothing rain. And then the sun bakes them to perfection, filling the house with the most delicious smell. Even the wind blew a long gentle breath to cool the cookies.

The pastel illustrations by Kimberly VanDenBerg are very well done. The color drawing on page 10 is well executed with a good use of tones. VanDenBerg is able to animate the wind and make the dress, hair, and flowers blow in the gentle breeze. Cookies Full of Love is a warm and wonderful tale of a special batch of cookies full of love and all-natural ingredients. The fresh-baked smell is spread around the world to everyone to share the love everywhere. Author Brock Schreiber uses very descriptive words like “shimmering stars cascaded out of my hand” to describe how the cookies were made. I especially loved the second last paragraph. Hopefully, children and parents will understand the love that went into these cookies and create a batch of their own cookies, full of love, to share them with others. Perhaps Brock Schreiber says it best: “love is precious and should be shared with everyone, everywhere.”

Cookies Full of Love is an inspirational children’s book written by Brock Schreiber and illustrated by Kimberly VanDenBerg. A note is left on the bench top, written by a little girl to her mother. She tells her mother how much love went into the wonderful cookies which she has made, and then goes on, in detail, how she came about making them. With all of the most beautiful aspects of nature, these are truly the best cookies ever to be made.

Brock Schreiber's beautifully written and wonderfully illustrated book was quite touching, even leaving me with a tear in my eye and an unshakable smile. It is quite rare to find books that are clearly written from the heart, showing the love and devotion to a parent from a child. Not only was a lot of thought put into Cookies Full of Love, but also great imagination, accompanied with child-like ways of expressing it all. The illustrations are very well presented, and this is definitely one of those rare books which I could easily read time and time again. While it may be designed for children, parents will also find their hearts swell with pure joy while reading it to their youngsters. I very much enjoyed this beautiful and timeless read, and wholeheartedly recommend it to young children aged 3-7, and their parents, as it will surely brighten anyone’s day. My hat’s off to both the author and illustrator for this incredibly well-written, magical book filled with love and a great imagination.
