Conspiracy of Grace: A Wild Tale of Transformation by Dale Fiegland and Robbi Cary is the story of the power of grace in the life of the author, a good Christian and minister, Dale Fiegland. It is a tale of hope with a powerful message for everyone: God is capable of turning things around and transforming our lives in far greater ways than we can imagine. The author of this book is a living testament to that hope. No wonder the book opens with the author declaring how stunned and surprised he is at how God loves him, blesses him, and wants him to know Him. This love has manifested itself in that while Dale ran away from God, He continuously pursued him.
Conspiracy of Grace: A Wild Tale of Transformation is the story of a Mafia runner turned pastor. As I read Dale’s story from being addicted to alcohol to living as a criminal to becoming a Christian surrendering his life to God, I got strong hints of St Paul who persecuted Christians and Augustine of Hippo whose debauchery and resistance to God turned into tools He used to make them powerful instruments. Told in a voice that is clear and engaging, albeit compassionate, this book is a testimony of God’s love and the power of that love in transforming us into who God wants us to be when we surrender our freedom to Him.
The authors are not preachy, but in a style that is conversational, they unveil the power of God’s love to readers with the testimony of one sinner. It pulls the reader in and compels them to think about their personal relationship with God, showing them the inscrutable ways of God’s loving-kindness. This book made me rethink my relationship with God and my personal commitment to service. The author opened my eyes to a love that is more powerful than me and more forgiving. It is one of those books that will help readers tell their stories differently.
