I can’t begin to tell you how timely and important Consequences by Robert and Miriam Fertig is. What I can tell you is that it is extremely well organized and very well written. If you are a thinker and you worry or you are curious about the headlines that emphasize the current conflict between the West and radical Islam, you should read Consequences. If you are concerned about the rhetoric and fear of some politicians who suggest this is an all-out struggle between all versions of Christianity and Islam, then again, this book is a must-read for you. But Consequences is so much more than a critique or explanation of the current political atmosphere. It covers everything concerning religion, science, philosophy, and history that is relevant to the current state of affairs between Christianity and Islam, and it does it in a style that is easy to read, easy to understand, and makes perfectly good sense.
In a way, Consequences is a condensed history of humankind told through the sometimes polarizing lenses of science, religion, and ideology. Robert and Miriam Fertig take us on a journey through issues and questions that are as old as man himself. With the works of over seventy-five authors as references, it seems as if every great thinker in human history is represented in Consequences, but again I want to stress how easy it is to read and understand. This is extremely important in the modern age and Robert and Miriam got it right. I like this book. I’m very glad that I read it. I am proud to have it in my collection and will suggest it to my friends.
