Conflicted Man by Eric Landfried continues the story of a man named Doyle that started in Solitary Man. We follow Doyle on his mission to find the truth. With a wonderful mix of faith, danger, family, and tough questions, this action-packed follow-up is a hit. This is a spectacular sequel that continues the strong Biblical themes and thrilling, fast-paced storytelling that I loved about Solitary Man. There was a subtle shift in this story, as Doyle spends more time in town, and the further east he travels, the more questions arise. We see more of the country as Doyle meets new friends, and enemies, and even has some shocking surprises along the way.
I loved reading this two-book series, and I can easily say that Conflicted Man by Eric Landfried is one of the best books I've ever read. I was intrigued by Doyle's story from the start, but the series shines with this fantastic conclusion. I loved seeing the different groups he ends up with and appreciating another side of the settings and Doyle himself. The layers of the story deepen and grow more complex as the action unfolds. The events were both frighteningly possible and beautifully told in this must-read series. I adored meeting Doyle's friends in this one, including the twins, Michael and his family, the old lady, and so many others who were a blast to discover. What a delightful book, and one to remember as it's such a thought-provoking read.
