Love finds a way to pull down barriers in the latest installment of the Carter Clan series. Interestingly for a romantic novel, AM Sams goes out of her way to spice up the storyline with the generational feud, but once you get past that, what follows is pure gold. The characters are well-rounded as they maintain the depth I expect from a story of this caliber courtesy of interesting conversations. This ultimately gives the reader a better appreciation of the wider story arc. Telling the story from the different points of view of the principal characters added a unique layer of authenticity to the plot. What I like best about this novel is how Sams incorporates the secondary characters' travails into the riveting story's subplots. Coming Home is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.

AM Sams' slice-of-life drama novel is full of heart, humor, and romance. Coming Home is, at its core, the story of two intertwining families as their current generation makes amends and moves past the grudges of the past. Evenly paced with a couple of well-placed curveballs along the way, the plot keeps you engaged until the end. The characters have well-developed personalities and traits that set them apart from one another. Austin and Cortland's relationship is at the center of the narrative around which the plot revolves. I particularly enjoyed the dynamic between Austin and Cortland with their friends and family—an entertaining novel for contemporary romance readers. I very much enjoyed it, and you should too.
