Collaborative Confidence by Heather Backstrom is a guide for ambitious women who wish to be great leaders and contribute to the growth of others. The author has formulated a three-step plan to help you achieve these goals. The steps are Activate, Amplify, and Accelerate. In the activate stage, a person needs to be self-aware of her strengths and weaknesses, think positively, create personal core values, and be attentive to feedback and how people perceive her. The next step is to amplify her executive presence and elevate other women by supporting their causes and opinions. The last stage is to accelerate, and it involves implementing changes that allow women to rise in the workplace and create opportunities that promote inclusivity. Women will transform their experience and improve work culture by reading this book and combining these three elements.
Collaborative Confidence is a good title for this book because it perfectly encapsulates the author’s message. Encouraging each other and promoting personal growth is a beautiful message for women in all sectors of life. Heather Backstrom’s strategy can apply to anyone who wishes to elevate themselves and others. I loved that her program does not seek to downgrade male leadership. Instead, she makes it an individual self-reflection and improvement plan for women. The book is well-researched, with references from various sources, and the author uses practical examples and stories to explain her ideas and raise critical points. She also teaches strategies and exercises you can use to achieve your goals. I liked the book's design and format because it made it easy and enjoyable to read. Every woman should get a copy of this book and begin their journey to becoming a better person and more effective leader.
