Read Cleo & Leo & The Magical Yarn: Another Time-Travel Adventure written and illustrated by Terry Roberts.
Although I am no stranger to Cleo and Leo’s antics, their lovable quirks and single-minded penchant for shenanigans made me laugh out loud! I have come to expect exciting adventures and fascinating historical tidbits from this series and this latest installment delivered on both fronts. It is hard to say which I loved more; the striking illustrations encompassing feline-themed backgrounds or the witty plays on everyday words and expressions featuring the word 'cat'. I greatly appreciated the deep dive into Mayan culture that showed their elegant architecture, vast knowledge of astronomy, and exquisite murals and sculptures, filling me with awe. True to the central theme, Terry Roberts explained the representation of cats in the Mayan civilization as majestic jaguars. Complete with a mouth-watering recipe and links to activity books, Cleo & Leo & The Magical Yarn is a perfect read for curious young minds.
