Cortney Donelson’s non-fiction book, Clay Jar, Cracked: When We Are Broken But Not Shattered, is candid and transformative. It blends features of both a memoir and a devotional. Life as she had known it was about to be shattered completely. As Donelson listened to her husband’s revelations, she did not know what to do. The details were gut-wrenching, making her question the authenticity of the years they had been married. That day marked the beginning of an arduous journey. Donelson was not sure what step to take. She had been taught that such a discovery should have her packing and leaving. But instead, she chose to pursue the Father’s heart, opting to have God guide her through this difficult journey. Each day was a struggle but little by little, steps of growth began to emerge. She began to see God’s love and His presence in the turmoil.
In Clay Jar, Cracked, Cortney Donelson opens up about the intimate aspects of her relationship with her husband from the day everything came crashing down to the process of restoration. Throughout, vital lessons are shared and scriptures are offered that can be a source of guidance in the occurrence of a similar event or any other form of adversity.
